Privacy Policy
Present ("we", "us") helps you put your phone down and be present — solo or with your circle. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell your data, and your journal stays yours.
What we collect
- Account info. Your name, email address, and profile photo if you add one — used to create your account and let circle members recognize you.
- Session data. When you start, join, and complete focus sessions, including duration and routine settings — used to show your stats, streaks, and circle activity.
- Journal entries. Notes you write are stored so they sync across your devices. They are private to you and are never shown to circle members or used for advertising.
- Purchase status. Whether you have an active Plus subscription, via Apple's App Store. We don't see your payment details.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and basic device info to keep the app working.
What we don't collect
- We don't track your location.
- We don't read your notifications, messages, or other apps.
- We don't sell or rent your personal data to anyone, and we don't show third-party ads.
How circles work
When you join a circle, members can see your name, photo, session activity, and streaks. Leaving a circle stops sharing going forward. Your journal is never visible to a circle.
How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account is active. Delete your account in the app (or by emailing us) and your account data, sessions, and journal entries are permanently deleted within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something longer.
Your rights
You can access, export, correct, or delete your data at any time. Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA, UK, and California), you may have additional statutory rights. To exercise any of them, contact us at the address below.
Children
Present is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region), and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll notify you in the app before they take effect.
